I forgot the sample...hehe
Autumn. That word sends most people into a spiral of reds, browns, oranges, and golden yellows. It brings back memories of jumping in leaves, and carving pumpkins. It will remind you of falling leaves, and the smell of freshly chopped wood. It might bring you to a world where you smell fresh pie, and see family; it might even give you the sense of home. To Rylie, she saw beauty, she didn’t see home, she didn’t see family, she saw different things. She saw her first year, sitting under her favorite tree, making her first impressive sketch of the school. That was the first time she saw the true beauty of the world she lived in, the magical world of hogwarts.
At the moment, autumn was showing its true beauty, in the rain and Rylie was enjoying every moment of it. Her sky blue eyes were a reflecting cloud gray color, with the blue still showing through. In the illumination her skin looked as light as porcelain but at smooth as silk. Her hair, raven black, and sleek, seemed to outline her face; it highlighted her eyes, but blended to her skin perfectly. Why did she seem so calm you might ask, I already told you, if you didn’t see. It was the rain, it seemed to entrance her no matter where she was, and even though she was inside, she could feel it hitting her skin, soaking her hair, she could hear it on the lake, and smell it. It seemed it was a part of her, and in a sense, she was not good or bad when it was raining, she was Rylie.
The corridors had no echoes, and it seemed rather still, life was on pause in the castle. Rylie didn’t know where she was, or how she got there, she didn’t know where her mind took her, or where it was taking her, but she knew that she was safe. Eventually in time, someone would come find her; someone would wonder where Rylie went, or why she hadn’t sent any letters. Someone would subconsciously ask themselves if they had seen Rylie, or heard from her, someone or other. It didn’t really come to her as important. All her dreams were freely roaming, and thoughts seemed to pass her by, she couldn't think about one thing to long before something else passed by.
Eventually her eyes seemed to drift around the halls. She didn't see anybody, she didn't even hear anybody, did she really wander that far from the main hall? She looked back out the window, the rain was still pounding just as hard as it was ten minutes ago, this storm just wouldn't let up. It was going to be one of those long storms, where everyone in school dreaded going to herbology, and they ran trying to avoid being soaked, though it was bound to happen either way. Rylie didn‘t run though, and she often got Madam Poppy mad because she caught colds easily, but she couldn‘t run. She would walk and enjoy it before the teachers decided to make them come back inside again.
She began to twirl a strand of her black hair, letting it wrap around her pale finger like a snake. At first glance, this girl would seem to be rather nice, quiet, and maybe even a bit shy. Well that was one part of her. That was just Rylie. There was also, Good Rylie, and Bad Rylie. Good Rylie was practically afraid of everything, very sweet, and full of giggles, but afraid. She was kind and liked to lend a hand, but as her friends said, the wind could spook her. She was the one that many people from Ravenclaw and Gryffindor liked; yet the Slytherins would jump her if she came near them in a mood like that. This was also the gullible side, numerous times she had been locked into classrooms because the lured her into them, another few times they told her false directions and she got lost, another few times a slytherin said they would do a favor for her if she did another favor for them, but they never returned the favor.
Then we come across her bad side. Most people know where to find her when she is on this side. Of course, in front of a mirror. Even in front of a window, she would be sitting there, fixing her hair, commenting how bright her eyes were, posing, anything that showed herself how beautiful she really was. In her bad sides case, no one could say she was ugly, it was just impossible, and it just didn‘t happen. When someone did dare to make a comment, she just expected them to be jealous. Oh bringing up that, this side had a major jealousy problem, about anything, if someone else had it, she would want it if it caught attention. Another fact about this side was that she loved to flirt, she absolutely could not go ten minutes seconds with a guy before she made some flirty comment. The thing was, both sides were deathly afraid of her, as if she might gain complete control.
Then, we come back to Rylie, just Rylie, she was just another sweet girl, who wanted to help out. She was that littlest piece of cake that no one wanted, no one really was interested in, the one with no colored icing or sprinkles, decorations, or candy, she was just plain Rylie. A few people respected that side of her though, the side that loved to put little white flowers in her hair, and make gingerbread and decorate it with skittles, and gumdrops and licorice. And at the moment, there was Rylie, hugging her knees, looking straight out that window, waiting for someone to come along, and notice, she wasn’t in her dorm, she hadn’t talked to anybody, and she most surely hadn’t come to breakfast
